John 3:19

[In the following passage, verses 19-21, three similar phrases with "the light" and the verb "come" recur, framing and reinforcing the message. The light has come, and man has been given a choice: to come to the light or not to come to it.]
This is the basis (reason) for the judgment:
The light has come into the world,
but people loved darkness more than light
because their deeds were evil (poisoned, destructive).
