John 7:2

Now the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles [Sukkot] was near.
[Sukkot falls in the fall on the 15th of Tishri, five days after the Day of Atonement – Yom Kippur. In our calendar, it falls in late September or early October. The feast is a seven-day celebration commemorating the forty years of wandering in the desert, see Lev. 23:34. The Hebrew word sukka means hut. To remember that they lived in simple huts, people still build small booths with sparse leaf roofs so that they can see the starry sky through the roof.]
