Acts 5:26

The captain of the temple guard then went out with the servants [to Solomon's portico in the temple area] and brought them back without using force, because they were afraid that the people would stone them.
[The Sanhedrin was completely helpless, and their actions had been a total failure. The apostles finally came to the interrogation, but of their own free will. The events of the previous night had convinced them even more that they were in God's hands. No man can stop God's plans!]
