First letter to the Thessalonians 4:13

[Jewish belief and the Old Testament teach that at the end of time there will be a resurrection and a final judgment. Martha believed this when she said, "I know that Lazarus will rise again in the resurrection on the last day," see John 11:24. A Christian who dies leaves earthly life to be with Jesus, see 2 Cor. 5:8; Phil. 1:21–23. The resurrection will also take place in stages. Jesus was the first, then all believers who have lived will be resurrected, and finally all people, see 1 Cor. 15:23–24.
Paul lived with the conviction that Jesus could return during his lifetime, see 1 Thess 1:10. So did Peter, see 1 Pet. 4:7. It seems that some questions have arisen in this area. It is likely that some of the believers in Thessalonica had died, and people wondered what would happen to them. Would their bodies remain in the grave until the final resurrection? What will happen when Jesus returns? Will they be there?]
Brothers and sisters (in faith), we want you to know what will happen to those who have fallen asleep, so that you will not grieve in the same way as others who have no hope. [All people feel sorrow and loss when someone close to them dies. The difference is that without the Christian faith, there is no hope.]
