But we know that the law [Gk. nomos] is good [Rom. 7:12], if used correctly (in a lawful manner – Gk. nomimos).
[The entire Word of God is good and shows what is right and pleasing to God, see Rom. 7:7; 13:8–10; Ps. 19:13; 119:160. It is like a mirror that gives insight into sin, see Rom. 3:19–20; Gal. 3:24. The entire Old Testament points to Jesus, see Matt. 5:17; Rom. 10:4. Misuse includes, for example, demanding that Gentiles follow the parts that were only intended for Jews, see Acts 15:19–21, or turning it into a legalistic system, see Rom. 8:3; Gal 2:16; 3:23.]
