First letter to Timothy 5:5

She who is truly a widow, and has been left alone (single, isolated), has put her hope in (has her expectation in) God and perseveres (remains; endures) [continues to stand firm] in invocation [in prayers offered for specific needs] and prayer [in worship, devotion, and intimacy with God] night and day.
