We may fear

while is left remaining,,

[the] promise

ὑστερηκέναι.
to have fallen short..
ysterekenai.
We may fear therefore, otherwise while is left remaining, [the] promise to enter into the rest of Him, may seem any of you to have fallen short.

they [were];;

of [their] hearing

And for we are evangelised just as they [were]; but not did profit the message of [their] hearing them, not united with the faith of those having heard.
3 Εἰσερχόμεθα
We enter

We enter for into the rest, those having believed; as He has said: So I swore in the wrath of me, Not will they enter into the rest of Me.’” and yet the works from [the] foundation of [the] world have been finished.

He has spoken for somewhere concerning the seventh [day] in this way, And rested God on the day seventh from all the works of Him.”

And in this [passage] again, [Not] will they enter into the rest of Me.
6 ἀπολείπεται
it remains [for]

εἰσελθεῖν

εὐαγγελισθέντες
having received the good news,,

εἰσῆλθον
did enter in

ἀπείθειαν,
disobedience,,

Since therefore it remains [for] some to enter into it, and those formerly having received the good news, not did enter in because of disobedience,

προείρηται,
it has been predicted,,

ἀκούσητε,
you shall hear,,

σκληρύνητε
shall harden
sklerynete
again a certain He appoints day Today, through David saying after so long a time, just as it has been predicted, Today, if the voice of Him you shall hear, not shall harden the hearts of you.”
8 κατέπαυσεν,
gave rest,,

If for to them Joshua gave rest, not then would about another was he speaking after this day.
9 ἀπολείπεται
there remains

σαββατισμὸς
a Sabbath rest

So then there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God.
10 εἰσελθὼν
having entered

κατάπαυσιν

The [one] for having entered into the rest of Him, also he rested from the works of him, as from [His] own God [did].
11 Σπουδάσωμεν
We may be diligent

We may be diligent therefore to enter into that [very] rest, so that not by the same anyone example may fall of disobedience.

Living [is] for the word of God, and active, and sharper than any sword two-edged, even penetrating as far as [the] division of soul and spirit, of joints and also marrows, and able to judge [the] thoughts and intentions of [the] heart.

[are] uncovered

λόγος.¶

logos.
And not there is creature hidden before Him; all things however [are] uncovered and laid bare to the eyes of Him to whom [is] our reckoning.
14 ἀρχιερέα
a high priest

διεληλυθότα
having passed through

κρατῶμεν
we may hold firmly

ὁμολογίας.
to [our] confession..

Having therefore a high priest great, having passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, we may hold firmly to [our] confession.

Not for have we a high priest not being able to sympathize with the weaknesses of us; tempted however in all things by [the] same way, without sin.

προσερχώμεθα
We may come

we may receive

εὔκαιρον
in time of need

βοήθειαν.¶

We may come therefore with boldness to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and grace may find for in time of need help.
