First letter of John 3:10

This is how it becomes clear (this is how you can recognize) who are God's children
and who are the devil's children:
Anyone who does not habitually practice righteousness (puts it on, lives in it)
is not of God.
Anyone who does not love his brother (his siblings in faith with God's selfless, giving love)
is also not from God.
[As is often the case in this letter, the next theme is introduced in the last verses. Having discussed sin and its origin, see 1 John 2:28–3:10, the discussion now moves on to love, which is the next major theme. Anyone who does not love his fellow believers is not of God. Anyone who loves God also loves his children.]
