But now your kingdom will not endure, for the Lord (Yahweh) has sought out a man after his own heart [David, see 1 Sam. 16:6–13], and the Lord (Yahweh) has appointed him prince over his people, because you have not kept (guarded, protected, preserved) what the Lord (Yahweh) commanded you."
