and Shemida, the family of the Shemites,
and Chefer, the family of the Cheferites.
And Zelophehad, the son of Hepher,
had no sons but daughters, and these are the names of Zelophehad's daughters:
Mahlah [meaning: "sickness"]
and Noah [meaning: "movement"], Hoglah [meaning: "partridge"], Milkah [meaning: "queen"]
and Tirzah [meaning: "advantageous"].
[These daughters go to Moses and ask to inherit their father's estate, see Num. 27:1–11; 36:5–12; Josh. 17:3–6.]
Then the daughters of Zelophehad [Num. 26:33; Josh 17:3], the son of Chefer, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh of the family of Manasseh, the son of Joseph, came near. And these are the names of his [five] daughters: Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milkah, and Tirzah.
And the lot of the rest of the sons of Manasseh according to their families was for the sons of Abiezer, and for the sons of Helek, and for the sons of Asriel, and for the sons of Shechem, and for the sons of Shefer, and for the sons of Shemida; these were the sons of Manasseh, the son of Joseph, according to their families.
But Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, had no sons, but daughters [Num. 26:33; Num. 27:1], and these are the names of his [five] daughters: Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milkah, and Tirzah.
