And it came to pass in the eighteenth year of King Josiah (Hebr. Joshijahos) that the king sent Shaphán, the son of Azaliah, the son of Meshullam, the scribe, to the house of the Lord (Yahweh), saying:
And Hilkiah, the high priest, said to Shaphan, the scribe, "I have found the Torah scroll in the house of the Lord (Yahweh)." And Hilkiah gave the scroll to Shaphan, and he read it.
And Shaphan the scribe came to the king and brought back prov to the king, saying, "Your servants have poured out the silver that was found in the house and have given it into the hands of the workers who are in charge of the house of the Lord (Yahweh)."
And Shafan the scribe told the king, saying, "Hilkiah (Hebr. Chilqijaho), the priest, has given me a scroll." And Shafan read it before the king.
And the king commanded Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Achbor the son of Micaiah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah the king's servant, saying,
And Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asaiah, went to the prophetess Huldah (Hebr. Choldah), the wife of Shallum, the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe, who lived in Jerusalem in the Second Quarter, and they spoke with her. [The name Hulda is the feminine form of Hebr. choled, which is the word for weasel, the basic meaning of which has to do with being quick and nimble. Hulda is also mentioned in .]
Then Hilkiah (Hebr. Chilqijaho) said to the scribe Shafan, "I have found the Torah scroll in the house of the Lord (Yahweh)." Hezekiah gave the book to Shafan.
Shaphan carried the book to the king and gave him his report. He said, "Your servants have done everything they were commanded to do.
The scribe Shafan also told the king, "The priest Hilkiah (Hebr. Chilqijaho) has given me a book." And Shafan read from it before the king.
And the king commanded Hilkiah (Hebr. Chilqijaho) and Ahikam, Shafan's son, and Abdon, Mic.'s son, and the scribe Shafan, and Asaiah, the king's servant, saying,
