Romans 8:26

[This passage is framed by the help and prayer of the Spirit (verse 26) and Jesus' intercession for us, see verse 34. Central to this is Jesus as the firstborn, see verse 29b.]
In the same way [that both creation and we groan, see verses 22-23], the Spirit also helps (rescues) us [when he accompanies and supports us exactly where it is needed] in our weakness (frailty, fragility). For we do not know (have not known) exactly what we should pray for (how we should pray most appropriately). But the Spirit himself [steps in and] prays (intercedes; pleads, mediates) for us with inexpressible groans [that no words can express].
