Jeremiah 31:9

They will come back weeping [in repentance for past sins],
and I will bring them back in prayer for mercy (undeserved love).
I will lead them along streams of water [Ps. 23:2],
on a smooth path where they will not stumble.
I will do this because I am a father to Israel,
and Ephraim is my firstborn son.
