Lamentations 4:2

The precious sons of Zion [Jerusalem],
once worth their weight in gold,
woe (alas, why), now they are treated like [simple] clay pots,
such as the potter makes.
[The second Hebrew letter is: ב – bet. The sign depicts a house with only one door. It symbolizes a home and total trust. The word for "sons" begins with this letter. Sons are the heirs of the family and thus the hope of the home for the future. Here, the sorrow and despair that the sons' fate brings is emphasized, in the form of a lost trust in the possibility of ever seeing a continuation of the home and family. A continuing lineage contrasts with the cheap clay pots, simple commodities that are thrown away when they are worn out.]
