Matthew 6:23

If, on the other hand, your eye is diseased (evil, envious)
your whole body will be full of darkness.
If the light within you is darkened,
how deep is the darkness!
[The word sick (Gk. poneros) means something that is corrupt and worthless, but also has the meaning of evil and envy, see Matt. 20:15. Those who view what others have "generously" and keep their eyes fixed on God become content and grateful for what they actually have, while those who are selfish and look at others "jealously" embitter their inner selves.]
