[The Pool of Siloam was located in southern Jerusalem. The tower was probably part of the wall. Then, as now, people speculated that the massacre, or the accident with the tower that fell, was God's punishment for specific sins that these people had committed. Jesus replies that this is not the case, addressing those who asked the question and getting personal – you must repent.]
