John 15:11

This [all this] I have spoken to (said) you so that my joy may be in you and [so that] your joy may be complete (overflowing).
[Jesus often taught in a very practical way, using images that were familiar to his disciples. Jesus is the vine, the Father is the gardener, and his disciples are the branches. Those who gather the branches and throw them into the fire are probably angels, see Matt. 13:41–43, 49–50. Jesus is the one who stands between the Father and the branches; it is in him that life flows. The goal is to bear fruit, see verses 2, 4, 5, 8, 16. John uses the same word for fruit that he previously used for crops in John 4:36. Bearing fruit is about people's eternal salvation.]
