John 18:3

Judas brought with him a Roman battalion [cohort – consisting of about 600 Roman soldiers, see Acts 10] and temple guards [Jewish men who served as security guards in the temple] from the chief priests and Pharisees. They came there with torches, lanterns, and weapons.
