John 2:24

But Jesus himself did not entrust himself to them [in the same way he did with his disciples from Galilee], because he knew them all. [Jesus saw through this short-lived superficial faith that was based only on the signs he performed. It is when faith is tested that it can prove to be genuine, see 1 Tim 3:6, 10.]
