John 6:31

Our ancestors ate manna in the desert, as the Scriptures say: He gave them bread from heaven to eat. [The day before, they had hailed him as the Messiah and wanted to make him king by force because of the miracle of the bread, see John 6:14–15. Now that Jesus was not what they had imagined, that miracle, or any of the other signs he had performed, was not enough as proof.]
