As often as you eat this bread
and drink this cup
you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.
[The Lord's Supper has four different perspectives. It is a look back at what Jesus did on the cross, see verses 24-25. At the same time, it also looks forward to the day Jesus returns, see verse 26. There is also an aspect of looking around and discerning our brothers and sisters in faith, see verse 29. In that process, we also look inward and evaluate ourselves, see verse 28.]
