Ephesians 4:29

Let no immoral speech (literally: rotten words) [i.e., speech/jokes that are of poor quality and therefore unhealthy and inappropriate to use] come out (come out; proceed) from your mouth, but only what is good and helps to build up where it is needed (what is good for the necessary/needed edification), so that it benefits (literally: would give grace to) those who listen.
