Second letter to Timothy 4:6

For I myself am about to be sacrificed,
and the time of my departure has come.
[The Bible does not say when Paul died, but most evidence points to it being a few years after the fire in Rom in 64 AD, when persecution of Christians increased. According to tradition, Paul was imprisoned in the underground Mamertine Prison and then beheaded during Nero's reign as emperor around 67 AD.]
