Revelation 3:20

Behold, I stand [still] at the door [outside the congregation] and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, [then] I will come in to him and dine (have a meal) with him, and he with me.
[The Greek here literally says, "has stood at the door." This, together with "knocking," describes a repeated ongoing event; see also Zechariah 1:3; Song of Solomon 5:2; Matt. 7:7; Luke 12:36. Jesus both knocks and speaks to his congregation and individual believers. The knocking can be external circumstances, trials, and sufferings when a person is reminded of the fragility of life. Jesus is then close by and speaks through the Holy Spirit, see John 6:44. A meal describes a close fellowship – we "break bread" together with him himself, see 1 John 1:3; 2 Cor 13:13; Luke 24:29–30; Acts 2:42.]
