Revelation 8:7

The first angel [of the seven] blew [his trumpet].
Then hail and fire, mixed with blood, were thrown down on the earth.
A third of the earth was burned up,
a third of the trees (fruit trees) were burned up,
and all the green grass was burned up. [Hail and fire correspond to the seventh plague against Egypt, see Ex. 9:13–35. The prophet Joel speaks of "blood and fire" in the last days, see Joel 2:30–31. The first judgment affects vegetation and upsets the balance of nature, which in turn affects the food supply.]
