Ecclesiastes 2:11

Then I turned [to observe and contemplate] everything my hands had done
and the work I had devoted myself to,
and behold, this too is vanity (emptiness; completely meaningless) and a chasing after the wind,
and there was no gain under the sun. [Disappointment: A person's work, life's work, and wealth also do not provide lasting satisfaction with life. The word joy connects this unit with the third, see verse 2.]
