and Zadok, the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech, the son of Abiathar, were priests, and Seraiah was the scribe,
And behold, Zadok and all the Levites with him came and carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord (Yahweh), and they set down the ark of God (Elohim), but Abiathar went up until all the people had passed out of the city.
And the king said to Zadok, "Carry back the ark of God (Elohim) to the city. If I find favor (undeserved love – Hebr. chen) in the eyes of the Lord (Yahweh), he will bring me back and show me both it and his dwelling place,
And the king said to the priest Zadok, "See? Return to the city in peace (shalom) and Achimaats, your son, and Jehonatan, the son of Evjatar, your two sons with you.
Zadok and Abiathar carried the ark of God (Elohim) back to Jerusalem, and they stayed there.
And with you there are Zadok and Abiathar, the priests. Therefore, whatever you hear from the king's house, you shall tell Zadok and Abiathar, the priests.
Behold, they have their two sons with them, Hos, the son of Zadok, and Jonathan, the son of Abiathar, and through them they shall send everything to me so that I may hear it."

And the king appointed Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, in his place over the army, and Zadok the priest in the place of Abiathar.

Achituv became the father of Tsadoq, and Tsadoq became the father of Achimaas.

David summoned the priests Zadok and Abiathar and the Levites Oriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel, and Amminadab
David also left the priest Zadok and his brothers, the priests, to remain before the tabernacle of the Lord (Yahweh) at the high place in Gibeon,

Shemaiah, the son of Nethanel, the scribe, of the tribe of Levi, recorded them in the presence of the king, the leaders, the priest Zadok, and Ahimelech, the son of Abiathar, and in the presence of the heads of the families of the priests and the Levites. The lots were cast alternately for the families of Eleazar and for the families of Ithamar.
They also cast lots, like their brothers, the sons of Aaron, in the presence of King David, Zadok, Ahimelech, and the heads of the families of the priests and Levites, the heads of the families and their youngest brothers.
of Levi was Hashabiah, son of Qemoel,
of the family of Aaron was Zadok,
They ate and drank with great joy before the Lord that day, and for the second time they made Solomon, son of David, king. They anointed him prince of the Lord and Zadok priest.
Then the chief priest Azariah of the house of Zadok answered, "Since we began to bring the offerings to the house of the Lord (Yahweh), we have eaten and been satisfied, and there is still much left over, for the Lord has blessed his people. What remains is this great wealth."
The temple chamber facing north is for the priests who perform the service at the altar, that is, for the sons of Zadok, who are the descendants of Levi who may come before the Lord to serve him."
Then you shall give a young bull as a sin offering to the Levitical priests, who are of the family of Zadok and who may come near to minister before me, declares the Lord God (Adonai Yahweh).
But the Levitical priests who served at my sanctuary, namely the sons of Zadok, when the other Israelites went astray and departed from me, they shall come before me to serve me. They shall stand before me to offer me fat and blood, declares (says, proclaims) the Lord God (Adonai Yahweh).
It shall belong to the priests, the sons of Zadok, who have been consecrated and who have served me and who did not go astray as the Levites did when the other Israelites went astray.
