Concerning now the times and the seasons, brothers, no need you have to you to be written.

Yourselves for fully you know that day of [the] Lord, as a thief by night, in this manner comes.

λέγωσιν·
they may say,,

ἀσφάλεια,

αἰφνίδιος
suddenly

ἐφίσταται
comes
ephistatai
ὄλεθρος
destruction,,
olethros
γαστρὶ
womb [pregnancy]
gastri
ἐκφύγωσιν.¶
shall they escape..
ekphygosin.
For when they may say, Peace and security, then suddenly upon them comes destruction, as the labor pains to her in womb [pregnancy] having; and no not shall they escape.
4 ἀδελφοί,
brothers,,

σκότει,
darkness,,
skotei,
καταλάβῃ·
may overtake..

You however, brothers, not are in darkness, that the day you like a thief may overtake.

of darkness..

All for you, sons of light are, and sons of day. Not we are of night nor of darkness.

καθεύδωμεν
we may sleep

γρηγορῶμεν
we may watch
gregoromen
νήφωμεν.
we may be sober..
nephomen.
So then not we may sleep as the others, but we may watch and we may be sober.
7 καθεύδοντες
sleeping,,

καθεύδουσιν
sleep;;

μεθυσκόμενοι
becoming drunk,,

μεθύουσιν·
get drunk..
methyoysin.
Those for sleeping, by night sleep; and those becoming drunk, by night get drunk.
8 ἡμέρας
of [the] day

νήφωμεν
may be sober,,
nephomen
ἐνδυσάμενοι
having put on

θώρακα
[the] breastplate
thoraka
περικεφαλαίαν
[the] helmet
perikephalaian
σωτηρίας·
of salvation,,
soterias.
We however, of [the] day being, may be sober, having put on [the] breastplate of faith and love, and [the] helmet [the] hope of salvation,

obtaining

salvation

because not has destined us God for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through the Lord of us Jesus Christ,
10 ἀποθανόντος
having died

γρηγορῶμεν
we shall watch

καθεύδωμεν
we shall sleep,,

ζήσωμεν.¶
we may live..

the [One who] having died for us, so that whether we shall watch or we shall sleep, together with Him we may live.

Therefore do encourage one another and do build up one another, just as also you are doing.

to have appreciated

προϊσταμένους
taking the lead

admonishing

We implore however you, brothers, to have appreciated those toiling among you and taking the lead over you in [the] Lord, and admonishing you,

to esteem

ὑπερεκπερισσοῦ
exceedingly abundant

εἰρηνεύετε
Do be at peace
eireneyete
ἑαυτοῖς.¶
yourselves..

and to esteem them exceedingly abundant in love, because of the work of them. do be at peace among yourselves.

We exhort

παραμυθεῖσθε
do encourage

do be patient

We exhort now you, brothers, do admonish the unruly, do encourage the fainthearted, do help the weak, do be patient toward all.

do see that no one evil for evil to anyone may repay, but always the good do pursue also toward one another and toward all.

All things however do test. To the good do hold fast.
